Session 1: DFI lets go! Day 1 Friday 30th July

Wow really enjoyed the introductions. Great to see the everyone in my bubble and the vast experience everyone has. Stories whakawhanaugatanga in brining us together.

Bubble leader Vicki shared goals:

  • Students are supported to acquire fluency using basic tools to use for learning
  • Teachers are supported to acquire fluency using the basic tools for effective achievement planning, assessment and professional learning.
  • Teachers understand how to use technologies effectively to have impact on accelerating achievement
  • Understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy and how it has been constructed over 10 years to to maximise and impact learning
Thank you Dorothy for the background story of Manaiakalani. I like how you had shared that Manaiakalani is about the people and not the technology. Also the importance of equity that breaks barriers of socio economic stereo types and ethnicity in equalities. The importance of HOPE.

LEARN CREATE SHARE. - Importance of Whanau

Importance of Visibility: through Hapara - and also use of google sites- sharing of information and also the monitoring of childrens work for teachers and also leads within schools.

Navigating my way through professional account and personal account was great I like how I can access the tabs through command 1- 9 to the first 9 tabs which was really cool.

Before I left. I had to let go of my beloved Blues google account photo

and switch it over to this:

Wasn't sure I wanted to let go of my one and only BLUES label 😢 But its important for others when you are in contact with them that they know who you are which I agree  and understand as a professional online.

In terms of my learning I really like the processes of LEARN CREATE SHARE and also the importance of learning through this process.
